Daisy Daze

Two things I love: daisies and a black & white color combo. So when I came across this adorable swing dress at Lord & Taylor the other week you know I had to buy it!

The cool thing about this dress is that from far away it looks like polka dots, but up close it is a fun daisy pattern.

I hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend. Yesterday was so very busy (Rocko had a grooming appointment, we went out for brunch, we made a cooking video, and went to a wine tasting) that today we are just going to take it easy. Meeting up with a friend later on...and just chillin'. Sounds like a great day to me!

What do you guys have planned?

Foxes & Fringe

I may be in my mid-30's, but that doesn't stop me from wearing dresses with adorable prints on them. I just picked up this super sweet fox print dress at a local boutique (Bodhi on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg) and I love it so much!

Aren't these fringe sandals so fun? I have to admit, I totally took advantage of the 30% off sale Lord and Taylor was having last week. Not only are they super comfy and unique, they also come in a number of colors. They have a 20% promo code currently running on them...so grab them while you can!

What are your feelings on clothing with bold prints on them like this? Do you wear prints proudly...or shy away? Even though the majority of my clothing is black, I have to say that when I do wear prints or color I tend to go bold.

GO BOLD OR GO HOME! Right?

Living on the Edge

I think I'm turning over a new leaf. I just turned 36 years old on Monday (oy!) and can you believe that this is the first (faux) leather jacket I have ever owned? I have so many sweet and girly looks...but nothing with much edge. Things are gonna change, because I'm loving this look! Don't you?

I picked up this pleather jacket at H&M the other day and I adore it. I have been looking high and low for a jacket like this without the belt (ugh I hate those). This specific jacket is so insanely soft, a great weight, and I love the cut and detailing! I'm kicking myself as they have a similar style on their website that is on sale. Looks like the cut might be slightly different and the lining isn't the same. But it's $20 cheaper than I paid...argh!

This dress is new too. I stopped by Zara earlier this week and they were having their mid season sale. Have you guys checked it out? So many items were 50% off! I got this dress for only $12 and change. YES!!!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. As you can see, here in NYC the snow and ice are still slowly melting. At least it is going to be in the 60's today...so get out there and enjoy the day in between all the rain. Later on I'm meeting up with a friend that is taking me out for a belated birthday coffee and pie. Mmmmm...pie.

Twinning in Gingham

Sometimes I like to make my dog dress to match me. Go ahead, roll your eyes. But I think it's adorable...and Rocko is really a good sport about it. Well, usually.

I absolutely love gingham! Gingham is plaid's cuter cousin. Add in some ruffle details and you have the perfect girly dress for spring.

Another trend I'm totally digging lately is metallic shoes. No matter if they are silver (my favorite), gold, or rose gold...grab a pair and you'll be looking so on point. The great thing is that they go with everything!

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Butterfly in the Sky

I'm absolutely in love with this dress from Brooklyn Industries. Not only is it absolutely adorable, but my husband picked it up for me as part of my Valentine's Day gift. I could care less about jewelry...he knows the way to my heart (besides his cooking) is by expanding my wardrobe.

Not only is this dress covered with an adorable butterfly/insect print, but I love that I can wear it in the spring or summer and to work or casually when at home.

I could have easily worn a nude, brown, or navy shoe with this dress...but that would just be so boring! Why would I do that when I could totally jazz it up a little with some hot pink booties!?!?! Pulling another color from the dress and pairing it with my footwear just elevates the look.
