Gift Guide: The Wannabe Chef

We all know someone that loves to cook. Why not treat them with great gifts they can use and enjoy in the kitchen. Hey, if they are happy in the kitchen maybe they'll make you something extra delicious. That's always what I aim for anyway!

Deco Dot Tea Kettle by Kate Spade New York- $50

Not only is this tea kettle adorable (I can't get enough of polka-dots) but on the whistle it is engraved with: whistle while you work. I mean how cute it that? Then again, when is something by Kate Spade not cute? NEVER!

Sweet Cupcake Hostess Apron available at Stone Flower- $29.95

One thing every cook needs is an apron. What is even better than a regular old apron? One as cute as this! Cooking should be all about having fun in the kitchen...starting with your apron.

Set of 5 Baker Nesting Bowls available at Crate & Barrel- $39.95

We actually have bowls similar to this. Ours too are from Crate & Barrel and have lasted us for just shy of a decade...and we use them all the time. When the ones that we have finally break we most certainly will buy another set like this from Crate & Barrel. They hold up!

Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Round Dutch Oven, 3 1/2 Quart available at Williams-Sonoma- currently on sale for $169.95

If you cook a lot and don't own a Dutch oven you are seriously missing out. From soup to bread, you can use this for just about anything! And at a price like this you better get one while you can.

Holiday Kits from Hard Candy

I know it is crazy to ask, but have you starting thinking about gifts for the holidays yet? I was watching a morning show today and they were talking about Christmas gifts...even though Halloween hasn't even arrived yet! Part of me wanted to scream at the guy on television. I mean why are we rushing things?!?! But then the practical part of me realized it is almost November...and I personally like to have all of my holiday shopping done by early December if I can. So with that said I figured that maybe now really is the right time to slowly start bringing out some great gift options for my readers.

The other week my friends at Hard Candy sent over some of their new holiday lip kits. Three things I love about these:

1) The colors are so great for everyone. No matter if you love a gloss or a lip stain crayon, the colors go on rather light...but you can layer them up. From nude shades to pinks...there is a hue for everyone!

2) The packaging couldn't be more adorable. I especially love these tins shown above. Aren't they just adorable? They are so pretty you'll want to keep them around well after you finish up the lip products.

3) They are super affordable. For just a few bucks you'll have that perfect little stocking stuffer. Buy a few of these to keep on hand for those unexpected holiday guests that stop by, and it won't break the bank. They are also perfect for the tween or teen in your life (who can be so difficult to shop for).
