Three Cool Ways To Wear A Faux Fur Leopard Print Coat

I have to admit, I love leopard print (almost as much as I love stripes and polka dots). When I saw this Cupcakes and Cashmere Tinsley Faux Fur Leopard Coat on Bloomingdale’s website I knew I had to have it. Also, I got it wayyyyyyyy on sale…which makes it even better. The good news for you is that you can get it for 15% off (when you use the code SAVEMORE at checkout). In addition to their promo code I made sure to use my loyalty reward card (it’s free to sign up) and I paired my Bloomingdale’s Ibotta discount.

LOOK #1

I’m starting off by keeping it casual, comfy, and quirky. I paired my coat with some matching flats in the same print. Throwing on some cut offs over tights and a bold red lip elevates this simple style.

LOOK #2

I feel that this outfit is still casual but slightly sophisticated. I pair my skinny jeans with a polka dot top and some laced up booties. Add on a velvet puffy headband and it pulls the entire look together.

LOOK #3

This last look totally stands out. Pair a full skirt, a thin turtleneck, bright tights, and bold booties for a style that is sure to get you noticed.

I got it in a medium and would say it’s true to size. I can’t wait for the bitter cold to end so I can wear it soon. It’s been crazy cold in NYC and only a long puffy jacket will do at the moment (this coat isn’t super heavy). Looking forward to wearing this next week!

What do you guys think of this coat? Are you as in love with it as I am?

Prints on Prints

I’ve always found pattern mixing rather difficult but lately have tried stepping out of my comfort zone a little with this style. I thought I’d take the opportunity to share my pattern mixing tips with all of you!

1) Use animal prints as a neutral.

2) Keep hues of different prints in the same color palette.

3) Don’t be afraid to mix florals, animal prints, stripes, or polka dots…but try to keep the patterns to two or three. You don’t want to be mixing seven patterns head to toe!

4) Have one print be the focus and another be the accent.

I hope this helps make you all feel comfortable with stepping our of your comfort zone and mixing up the patterns in your wardrobe a little. We all need to have a little fun with fashion…otherwise life is boring!
