The Bold And The Beautiful

dress: Calvin Klein thrifted from Crossroads Trading Co./ sandals: H&M/ horse pin: a gift from my friends at Bob Mackie

Yes I wear black (a lot)...but I really am a sucker for a bright and bold print (especially when hot pink is involved in it!). So you knew I couldn't say no to this amazing Calvin Klein dress. I picked it up at Crossroads Trading Co. last weekend. Not only did it fit me perfectly, but I don't think it was ever worn. The pockets were still sewn shut. Can you believe it? And better yet, it was only $27.50!!!

Enjoying the ever so slight breeze...

Tonight we're going to finally go see Trainwreck, and I cannot wait! We've been meaning to go for the last few weeks but our plans kept changing. But tonight is the night. Sitting in air conditioning this evening sounds like the perfect plan to me!

This weekend is going to be another hot one. Stay cool everyone!

Sharing My Beauty/Fashion Secrets

denim dress- Calvin Klein (thrifted from Crossroads Trading Co.) / wedges- MICHAEL Michael Kors

Today I'm sharing my top three beauty and fashion secrets with you.

1. Find your favorite local secondhand shop and become a regular. In my neighborhood I'm lucky enough to have a number of awesome secondhand stores and live in among some seriously stylish gals...so you know there are always awesome pieces to be found. My personal favorite shop in North Williamsburg has to be Crossroads Trading Co. I'm obsessed with that place. I always have the best luck there. I stopped there on Friday and picked up two practically new Calvin Klein dresses (see that one I'm wearing) and another dress that was never worn (tags still on it!)...three dresses all for only $65! Score!!!

2. Use coconut oil as a hair treatment. I only started doing this after I got my ombre hair about a month ago. Two of the girls that work at the salon that I go to told me it is a must! Not only will it help keep my hair from being dry, but it will help keep it from breaking. I absolutely love how soft it makes my hair! You have to try it!!! Go to the supermarket and pick up some coconut oil. Put some in your hands and rub your hands together to melt it. Slather it on and wrap your head in plastic wrap. Let it sit for an hour or two and then wash it out. You will notice a difference immediately!

3. Red lipstick makes the best accessory. Who needs jewelry or other accessories when all you need to do is swipe some red lipstick on to complete a look? Am I right? As you can see above, I kept my look simple...but the red lips really finish it off. Anyone that says they can't wear red lipstick because of their coloring or their age is crazy. RED IS FOR EVERYONE!!!

My McCarren Park

dress- Romeo & Juliet Couture thrifted from Crossroads Trading Co./ wedge sandals- Bakers/ fringe purse- H&M

I'm not a nature girl at all. Dirt, bugs, allergies...I hate it all. But I have to say, I love that I live near a park while living in a city. Actually, now that I think of it I always have had a park in my backyard while in NYC. When we lived in the East Village we had Tompkins Square Park, when we lived in the Upper East Side we had Central Park, and now that we are in North Williamsburg we have McCarren Park which I love so much! It's full or pretty flowers, has a great farmer's market, and Rocko's favorite dog run. It's our little part of nature that we need in this concrete jungle.

Rocko is loving this warm and sunny weather.

Isn't this dress the cutest? I picked it up at Crossroads Trading Co. the other week. Can you believe that this adorable scuba swing dress was marked down to $6??? SIX DOLLARS! I love that store. I always have such luck there picking up great second hand finds!

I hope you all have a lovely Saturday! Get out there and enjoy it!
